STORYTELLERS (July 1, 2006)

In the midst of their summer tour, Pearl Jam treated a few hundred lucky fans to an intimate performance for a taping of VH1 Storytellers on Wednesday, May 31 at Avalon in New York City. "VH1 Storytellers: Pearl Jam" premieres Saturday, July 1 at 10pm.

Woven throughout the show are political musings and points of view by the band and a solo acoustic performance by Eddie Vedder of "Here's To The State." The song is a reworking of late folk singer Phil Ochs' song "Here's to the State of Mississippi" with a new title and lyrics directed at President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Evangelist Jerry Falwell and Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez.

LOLLAPALOOZA '92 (Orlando, FL)

Classic PJ show with Ed shouting, "Bring on the hurricane ... we're ready." (The winds are very high with Hurricane Andrew approaching.) He dedicates 'Deep' to himself and later points out that Domino's Pizza supports Operation Rescue and has a Lolla booth, exciting the crowd by yelling, "I just wanna give Domino's Pizza the big fucking finger ... fuck off!" During Baba O'Riley, Ed climbs atop Chris Cornell's shoulders for the final chorus. Date: 08/23/92

Gorge Amphitheater: George, WA 09/05/93 [87m]

The Gorge is a beautiful venue and this show begins in the daylight and ends in darkness. At one point, Ed suggests that everyone just sit down and watch the sunset because "... you don't get many of these." This show is pretty much the patented Vs show with little variation from the album versions of these songs except for a few lyrical flubs. Mike plays a little 'Yellow Ledbetter' teaser prior to 'Daughter.' Mudhoney's Mark Arm joins PJ for 'Sonic Reducer,' which is performed as an encore "... with Neil's permission." Ed references being embarrassed having accepted the MTV video award and says he wished he'd stayed home.

Argentina (11/26/2005):

PJ on "Singles" Movie

Singles (1992) Romantic comedy about six of the city's young people, most of whom live in the same apartement building and whose lives revolve around Seattle's ever-expanding music scene. The inter-related stories about each character's progress through the singles scene are intriguing and often very funny, and the soundtrack is a grunge fanatic's dream, with the likes of Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Mudhoney.
